Novec 1230
Novec 1230 extinguishing agent (produced by 3M) belongs to the group of clean extinguishing agents. This concerns a liquid, the so-called fluorided ketone. This extinguishing agent does not contribute to the thinning out of the ozone layer, has an exceptionally low potential for global warming and a short period of existence in the atmosphere, thanks to which it is the first replacement for Halon, which offers a feasible, long-term and optimum solution for fire safety in especially risky circumstances. Seeing as the concentration of Novec 1230 extinguishing agent used is much lower than the level of indiscernible side effects (NOAEL), Novec offers the highest level of safety of all realistic replacements for Halon, which are currently to be found on the market.
